So what do I do take the paneling down and have it drywalled?

Can't really afford to spend on changes so need to find one I like.

Hi Pam,

Wouldn't hurt to ask the realtor about it...maybe if the seller wants to sell really bad they might make it part of the deal...but what do I know.

At least ask how you could find out what kind of costs it would involve.

Hi Pam,

Looks nice to me. The paneling is going to be what makes it's dark. If do choose this one, get rid of the paneling.

Cathy

At least the ceiling paneling... I think lightening that up would lighten up the rest of the room - that and/or some strategic lighting like wall sconces.

Pam,

If the sellers need to sell, they may work something out. Most paneling can be painted. So consider that option.

I love them both!

BTW...my suggestion to put the focus back on you wasn't a suggestion to "get over it" or ignore the pain and hurt or any of that...it was to gently remind you that your precious energy is so much better spent on YOU and the things that you can control...I think you saw some of that last week in particular, right? When you took charge of some things?

Maybe next time I'll suggest that you carefully back out of the cheeseless tunnel...

Wonder if the ceiling paneling could be painted?

I bet you are right, with a light ceiling the rest of it might not seem so dark.

Hi Ms. Sage,

I did know what you meant, I understand you so much better than I do David!

I just hurt and am really trying to keep that buried very deep and just focus on what I HAVE to do to get my life back in order.

Actually looking for a house this quickly is a sort of proactive step.

I could stay here for 3 months paying 25% of the mortgage and after that I could stay paying the same amount as rent.

Of course I don't know what I would do if it sold. So not planning to wait around. But I'm not sure the old Pam wouldn't have done exactly that!

Pam,
Paneling can be painted! I also agree with caly, paint the ceiling, it will make a big difference!

A home will be yours! And this is exciting!nI love the outside of the second one! But don't just settle for anything, you have to love it!
