This is for temporary support until the D is final. He pays just enough to keep me off the street and parents when it's convenient for him. He's got to go out of town next week and is trying to dictate to me how I should handle. Says this is all my fault since I won't do it his way. Laughable since he's gone all the time now including some overnights. How is this different? Oh wait it's not.
Not yet. My L is trying to get me an earlier court date and H can be served within 24 hours so she's got time.
For service to be completed within 24 hours, does your ex have to accept service?
I once had a family member decline service repeatedly. Alternatives can sometimes be very slow--if I recall correctly posting, a notice in the newpaper and waiting months. (In their case, they were worried about losing their home, and this gave them time to improve their finances and survive.)
I ask because your initial service has been so slow.

Filing mid November meant an automatic January court date where I work so February isn't unreasonable.
Process server is a friend of mine. H was able to dodge service the last time. The process server got angry told H his next stop was his work where he would make a huge, embarrassing scene. H met the process server and took the papers.
H has a physical address now (we didn't know where he was before) and 2 jobs. I also gave H the heads up that the papers were coming so he dodged service for 4 days. This won't happen this time because of the element of surprise. 48 hours tops.

lol, makes sense, especially given the kind of work your ex does.
Wow that is so crazy that he still hasn't been served! That's got to be miserable for you waiting for the shoe to drop! Hopefully your L can get it expedited. It'll be interesting to see how your H responds, he seems to be a bit smug right now thinking he's got you fooled about his income and his "extracurricular activities".

Was I dumb enough to say what he does for a living?? Must have been early when I was out of my mind. lol
