Hi Dad, Sorry for late reply (6:20 Pm Mon 11th Jan 2016) Thanks for the emails. Love Louise x
P.S. I heard the sad news about Bowie just after 7am. Shed some tears. A little late leaving for work so I could listen to all of Life on Mars being played on (radio) 6 music.
Hi Louise, Thanks for that, Dawn told me at about 7:10am, sad news & it brings back a lot of memories. The first one was when Life on Mars was in the charts July 1973. I was hoeing swedes in a field at W------ farm (Because the farm machine could only weed between the rows and not between the plants) while listening to it on the radio tied to my mates belt. The other was my take on "Sorrow", I recorded it in about 1986, it must still be here somewhere, a duet with David. And towards the end of the recording I heard your mother past the front room door, so at the end I said “this one is for you Lizzie” So indeed it’s very sad for me.
Love
Dad
P.S. I hope you can make my birthday, Ann can't make it till about 7Pm she's got work on Sat.
Hi Dad, (12:59 Pm 12th Jan 15) Thanks for sharing those memories. I have the albums you bought me on display in my flat. Thanks again for buying me Hunky Dory, I'm so glad you did & it means a lot.
Jeremy Vine (BBC Radio 2) just mentioned this tribute Rick Wakeman did yesterday:
Love Louise x ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For those of you who don’t know who Rick Wakeman is. He was in the super group YES. Rick also played the keyboards on Hunky Dory.
I met Rick when he was at a charity golf tournament back in early summer 1987 at the Hill Valley golf club. He is a very tall man about 6Ft 4”, and he is very nice to talk to. And I said to him that Hunky Dory was my favourite album, and I asked him was it good working on the album. He then talked to me for about 20 mins.
Hi Good folks, I hope to soon start writing up extracts from my ex W's diaries 1999-2003. Some very good insight of the kinds of things going on inside her head & her behaviour etc.
