While I never say never and don't try to predict the future, I do seem to be in the process of the world's slowest divorce. Having seen no evidence, for YEARS, that would suggest my marriage might be different and better in the future, I'm ready to get my ducks in a row, protect my kids, and take care of myself.

I've been lurking over in Surviving and am happy to see regular traffic over there and some like-minded healthy people, so my friends can find me there now and then. I'll probably still pop in to check on the newbies over here.

The most important thing I've learned here is to forget trying to save my marriage or influence my husband. The ONLY thing I could do, which is also the ONLY thing that might have had either of those two effects, was to be a beautiful, confident, interesting, happy and independent person. That I am working on.

So my heartfelt thanks go to the people who talked sense into me, helped me heal, and gave me the best shot possible at positioning myself for a potential reconciliation. Though it didn't happen, I am in a better place than I've ever been in my life. 25, cat, ur, others, thank you. I've got all the fish I could ever need.

Ad, I am sorry that you are moving over to the D board . . . you have been such an inspiration to so many on Newcomers, and your insights are always spot on.
