And what made it funnier was just as I read that, the radio station I've got on played that Chestnuts roasting on an open fire song.

Perfect timing or what laugh

That is funny NQ. laugh

Has anyone ever noticed like their nutty spouse competing in a sense? I came home all happy and with groceries for making a few dishes to take to the feast tomorrow and was busy in the kitchen making them.

I had told H I wanted him to be responsible for all the pop and drinks tomorrow and then I didn't say another word about it. I've read that saying to a H, 'I want..' instead of 'I need' or asking them something in the form of a question, will get results and will make them feel like they want to please you. (when you say I want...').

Well a couple of hours later he said he was going to the store to get the pop and drinks. So the I want worked. smile Then he came back from the store with stuff to make his bacon wrapped jalepenos. He hadn't even THOUGHT of taking anything over to Floormop's house until he saw me making stuff. Maybe I'll 'accidentally' take them over to the in-laws instead. haha Anyway it felt like he had to one-up me.

Then I told him and S that S and I were going down to the turkey trot in the morning. H looked kind of surprised. But he didn't say anything about wanting to go. But after that he started trying to get S's attention by talking to him about getting a car for S. Weird.

I also bought some supernice clothes and some knee boots to tuck my jeans into...looked very awesome. So I will look smokin' tomorrow! wink I also found a necklace in the store that I just had to buy. It was a sterling silver compass and the note on the package said 'A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.' How appropriate was that for this journey? The back of the necklace said 'There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going'. Isn't that amazing I found that?

Can someone tell me why I can't write in indelible ink on his forehead I'M MARRIED? haha. I also want to send Floormop a note letting her know he has NEVER asked me for a divorce yet. He is lying to her, she thinks he has. I know, I know, just be patient my grasshopper.

Pud,

Sounds like you had a good shopping trip. Good luck to you and son tomorrow at the turkey trot, I wish you a happy Thanksgiving. smile

Yes, I think the competing things is obvious and sad. My H has actually said to me, "Oh, so you want to compete with me?" or "Are you trying to compete with me? I'll play that game and win." ...It's totally mental. Yes, because I want to emulate his bad behaviors and do him one better, that sure sounds like a game worth playing. *sarcasm*

Pud, hope you and your son enjoy the turkey trot. Happy thanksgiving!

Competitive yep - my H keeps checking to see how much I've spent on our son for Christmas and birthday, then goes out and spends more.
