Such a good motto though I am sure many thought that saying would die with VHS tapes. I say it to my kids when they have said something that upset their siblings. Simply stop, be kind and replay the situation in a better way. Hopefully the hurtful situation won't come up so often.

Oh yeah,still no luck with the key. At least I have a spare or two.

We have freezing drizzle! Yuck! I can handle snow but not a big fan of ice. Hopefully it wi. Be cleaned up before S18 has to work as he hasn't driven in ice yet or at least not like this. Yep, over protective mom wishing I could control everything so no one would get hurt.

I agree - freezing rain is the worst. I'm of the mindset that if it's going to be frick'n cold then the only precipitation I want is frick'n snow!!!

We didn't get the freezing rain, but snow. And since it was 60 degrees on Wednesday, the roads are now really icy. It was a balmy 12 degrees here yesterday. My cell phone says it's 32 now, but I doubt its accuracy - it feels colder than that. It's been overcast all day and I have my space heater cranking here at work. We're supposed to get some snow tonight too.

And you know what that means... it's bound to hit KC within hours. Brrrrr!

If it weren't such a bother, I'd build myself a fire tonight. Alas, I just might get in my pajamas early and make an excuse to go to bed early too.

Hope your son is able to navigate. My D19's birthday is in February. She had a good 2 months of winter driving conditions when she first got her permit, and then again when she got her license. I'll have to say that she's a really good driver, even under less than ideal road conditions. Plus she's had last winter (horrid) in northern NY. I think she probably drives better than most people who have been driving for decades.

Thanks Betsey. He has driven for over a year but with the weather really bad I was a tad scared with him driving my newer car. It is only 4 years old. This morning his doors were iced shut and I spent quite a bit if time trying to get in while he worked on the windows. Here his girfriend who normally drives isn't since her dad needs his car so he had to drive. Fortunately the roads weren't bad.

Yes not fun when it is this cold. As for Xmas shopping I am just about done though I really do hate to shp before Thanksgiving. I have just come across the right thing at the right time I guess.

Oh by the way, the Internet is my friend. I rarely shop in a store, I really can't stand the crowds. Love using ebates and eBay and Amazon.

I will get early together new tires and then home to clean up a bit as I will have family here. At least my pace has gotten slower.

Got my front tires replaced. Going through the dealer it doesn't seem to matter if I buy them all at once or not. I have saved enough but just know if I spent that money something would come up. The treds on the back tires are still good so I can wait a tad longer to replace them.

Made homemade cookies last night. We all had a few but s21 and his frieds devoured them! I am not happy about that. Seriously 3 dozen cookies were just inhaled?!

Off to run errands.

I am cleaning not only for company on my Thanksgiving on Friday but also from being so incredibly busy. I don't want to do the quick intense clean like normal so hopefully this will just be the start of a more regular decluttering process.

All of our local branches were invited to get together for a buffet. About half of us were there. My boss bought mine which was unexpected. Very nice though. Just one more day. I should have my evaluation tomorrow as my raise is due December 1st. I know his goal was to get our office to the point where I could get a promotion. Everything looks good as long as he thinks I have done a good enough job to qualify on my end.

Off to bed. Night.

Don't know what my ex was thinking especially since we have been at this for five years now. He was going to try and keep the girls until late afternoon Saturday! I guess he thought I could have Thanksgiving on Sunday. One day only with the girls. What a dolt!

Anyway, he brought them by to get the charger for their lap tops and he was asking about D15's parade on Saturday evening. He wanted to know what time he had to get them there! Anyway, I said I had to get her there by 5. I said that I didn't understand why he was talking about Saturday since this was my time and I thought he was dropping them off now. Well we straightened that out except the girls have all their things at his house still. Gee, now he will get to make the hour drive round trip to drop there things by.

I am worn out cleaning. Luckily nothing will take too long tomorrow.

Just to get this out: I am so disliking the Broncos. 2nd week in a row we were in a good position and let it slip away.
