Just for a moment today, take a step away from your troubles and worries. Remember how 12 years ago we were shocked by the attack on our soil but we came together and showed solidarity. We flew our flags for months on end. We all watched the progress of New York rebuilding itself.
This is what we must do each day in our lives: build a strong foundation and create a better and stronger life.
In memory of those we lost in 9/11. God Bless America

Thanks for the reminder, Kat. My marriage ended with a bomb the week of 911. It was the week my little girl became a teen. A time none of us will ever forget. The world changed. And my family dissolved.
But from tragedy comes triumph and life goes on. We are just more aware.
On the day of the attack W who was going through a difficult pregnancy and I were at the hospital having a further scan on D12 who at 25 weeks had stopped growing and was suspected down syndrome. I thought then that our troubles and the troubles of the world would bring us closer together for ever.
However the world changed, we’ve changed, life is so different now, but life goes on..... for the better.
Just like you - it's important to note that we coped with the toughest of situations & survived. Life is not the same but in lots of ways - we have made it better.
Yes, yesterday was hard. I spoke with my cousin yesterday afternoon, who lives in Arlington. She was driving by the Pentagon when the plane hit. It has forever changed her as well. Her H is a Navy commander, and she doesn't take things for granted. I don't either. Freedom isn't free.
