For those of us who use gratitude journals or daily blessings journals...
I just wanted to share an idea I had that worked really well with Finn.
As many of you know, we just took her Make-A-Wish trip which was a laid back beach trip to Florida (Ft Myers Beach)
Because she is so young, I wanted to have a way to help her remember all the stuff we did that she liked. We didn't do lots of crazy things (too much stress for her) and we didn't go to Disney or anything like that. Our days were spent on the beach, swimming and making sand castles.
I took loads and loads of pictures but knew she wouldn't want to look through them all all the time so I went on snapfish (but tons of places do it) and made her a book.
they always have coupon deals for 40 and 50% off of the books so the book was $16 (I got extra pages) and it came in a couple of weeks and is perfect.
So...you could make a photographic gratitude journal...take pictures of the things you are grateful for or that are blessings and compile them. Every year, you would have a blessings journals!!!
A few years ago, one of my best penances was from confession was the gratitude journal with a twist. Every morning, I had to pray for 3 things. Every night I had to be grateful for 3, and I had to journal. It was nothing short of a miracle to see how often my prayers were answered. Some took longer, but I could clearly see something bigger than me at work. I had to do it for 3 months, but wound up doing it longer. Then I stopped for some stupid reason. I really need to do that again, because it was so uplifting. Adding photos would make it a miracle scrapbook.
Take care-

I'll let Fr. Bob know you thought so too. My confession at the time was being hopeless and feeling despair that I had been forgotten and overwhelmed. It was the perfect penance for me, you know? He's really awesome that way.
Have a great weekend-
