Been away for a while, living abroad. We return soon. Our internet has been circa 1985 so I'm catching up on things here. Feels like a long time.....

Things are about the same - complicated. But for a while we were out of reach from W's work, except for phone, email, and care packages she received, well ok maybe not that far out of reach. I still have trouble with her boss and it still causes problems occasionally. She is due a promotion, and enjoys interacting with him very much. Honestly, I'm still not sure if the problem is his/her behavior or my own personal insecurities. And I'm not sure how to figure that out either. On the bright side, I've been a good dad I think through some tough times here, and I hope we're a stronger family. We miss the USA.

Well. My W is racing back to her office, for several projects and the social interaction. She always says she's a "worker" - she's so happy and smiling on the phones when she calls back to the office. She has a promotion coming up. And will be working evenings and weekends for the foreseeable future. Totally to be expected - she's a hard worker and really amazing at her job. Why she ever decided to leave the work force to have kids I'll never know. I remember talking through that - but she was like a different person then.

Today we had a little thing when she said she'd be gone for an upcoming holiday when we usually have a big family get together.....she feeds me these things little by little. I wish she's just say: I am getting a big promotion and I'll have to work a lot more". But she probably doesn't want to hear me ask about how we're going to manage kid care, etc. She says I worry too much. And I am a bit worried. When it comes to work she just goes her own way. She just decides. Aw, heck. I wrote about a hundred posts on that.

What kills me is that she asked me to participate in one of her projects - she was in a real pinch and needed some one who does what I do. And I said yes. Goes again everything I've learned over the past couple years. Now I am technically working for her boss, at least for a little while. I just never learn. Break out the 2x4s.
