I knew the boy was sharp, but his comment tonight, basically outta tha blue, blew me away.
Son: "Mom's crazy."
Me: "Why do you say that son, did something happen?"
Son: "No, she's been crazy since she started hanging around _____ (OM husband)."
At his last comment I nearly feel outta my chair. It was all I could do to keep from explaining to him that mom went crazy first, then started hanging around other man. He was only 5.5 years when we split and she brought OM right into our children's lives so I believe this is more of a conclusion at which he recently arrived rather than an old observation.
I invite all to post any insights/words of wisdom their children have made known.

I don't have kids but I hate unanswered posts! I do have a niece (3) and nephew (6) that I spend a ridiculous amount of time with so here is my best insight for you...
Kids pick up on things like crazy. Something could have happened, maybe not even recently, and something reminded him of it... or a kid at school said something about their mom and your S picked up on it too and related it to his situation...
If you are really concerned about it, how about doing a family session with a counselor or allow him an IC session?
When you are happy as an individual, you are in a better position to determine whether a partner enhances your happy life or weighs it down.
Let's just say, "My head is bloody, but unbowed." There's a lot going on in my life right now. Some expected, some unexpected, some good, much difficult.
