Yep, I had a date like that. Old picture, also it was a pre-schizo break picture, lol. I actually left the date after paying (dutch) for my one beverage, walked around the block, and danced the night away in a bar with a live band. Also had a date with a very smelly guy with other unattractive "features." And had one with a mildly depressed, stuck, whiny, WAS who was a couple of years post-D.
But, there was also the date with my amazing brilliant funny handsome confident competent strong sexy H.
One thing is for sure, don't waste time being pen pals. Email, talk, set up a date. I would set up a date by the 4th contact for sure. And make it happen quickly.
What I've never seen is a strung out online dating thing that went anywhere. If you aren't going on a date quickly, you are being kept on the line as a back-up plan right from the get go. No thanks. It is also a HUGE waste of emotional energy and time to invest in a penpal R if you are looking for a romantic R. Just meet quickly, see how it goes.
