Things have been calm and quiet between us. Had a great Labor Day weekend and enjoyed family time.
Early this week W emailed me with fears of money. "I'm worried and things are very tight. " I didn't respond at all and when we did talk I did not mention what she had said.
Friday she called me at work and was desperate. "I can't make this month's mortgage payment. I need to call the bank." I listened to her complain about how her credit card has been used to cover overdraft of her checking account and other troubles. What caught me was her use of I not we or ours.
I only offered to call cable co to reduce services and even to buy groceries. No thanks on the but please call cable.
My head and heart wanted to say, I want to come home to fix this.
What do I do? Things have been ok but I don't want to pressure her.
Thanks

I may have left the house, but I still provide for my family.
Half of my paycheck go directly to her bank account and to further the pain she makes $1000 more a month than I do.
So the thought in my head to quote Jerry McGuire, "Show me the money."
But I know my departure caused a financial burden on my family.
What to do, what to do??

I'm worried about my family also. But W makes more than I do and if we D she will have to take care of herself as I will. That is the hard reality when people separate or D. Hang in there

mvp, the most important thing to consider here is your kids...
But your W will have to make a choice... either curb her spending or asset down... if she can't afford the mortgage, then it might be time to consider selling the house and getting into something more manageable for her... regardless of whether she curbs her spending...
