im civil and humorous as much as i can be around her in front of the kids, well that was till last night when she was extremely cold to me in front of the kids after she told me she hated me for going through her phone. And generally at least once a week i have my kids.
Now what do you mean "generally"? Do you have a set schedule when you have them? You should start doing that to show that you're responsible. At the very least your kids deserve it.
Are you involved with their schoolwork/activities, etc.?

No there is no set schedule, i do need to make one. and theyre in daycare so no real school activities, but i like to take them to the park when i can and play with them as much as possible. The other night before the whole "i hate u" turn, my wife even commented that the kids smile and are happier when im around.
Then start being responsible by establishing a set schedule. This time in a child's life is extremely critical and you want to bond with them as much as possible.
Can you stay over with them overnight or they with you? Start teaching them things instead of just playing with them. Do it for your kids and maybe your W will see you actually taking a role in turning your life around and respect you a little more.
