I just ordered the Video collection "The Marriage Breakthrough Seminar". Has anyone else watched these? My H has expressed a desire to want to improve on our communication skills and our relationship all around so I thought I'd give it a shot with these videos. Our crappy health insurance does not cover counseling at all, and the price of this set it like 1 counseling appointment if you're paying for it out of your own pocket. I'm sure Michele is the best marriage counselor out there anyway. Lisa
I just recently recieved the tapes, and have only made it through the first one. There's a teenager in the house, and only one VCR! But, so far, so good!
I especially like the audience input. They came up with some good, specific, everday situation questions that Michele answers for them. Answers to a couple of questions that aren't included in the book!
I think that your H will probably get something out of them, too, even if he just glances at it while you're watching. He'll see that there are a lot of "couples" in the audience, so this isn't just a "chick thing"!
I don't know if you've seen the following thread yet. I put more of my input there.
Jamesjohn, thanks for your input. I'm looking forward to receiving and watching the tapes. H will watch with me, he wants a better M too, 9,10,11 months ago he would not have been receptive to it at all! Lisa
Hi tielbeagle! I would be interested in how the videos work for you. Are they available in stores or just on-line? The cost of the Canadian exchange rate right now is a factor in ordering these tapes for me right now
My H is balking at listening to even audio tapes (Relationship Rescue by Dr. Phil-- sorry, competition lol). Good luck Lisa!! I hope and pray that you and your H are able to move closer to each other and explore a new and exciting relationship! Take care.
Ange, I'm looking forward to finding out for myself about the videos. as you read above, my H wouldn't have been interested either earlier this last year, but we've come a long way since then. I hope you and your H get to the same point. I too like to watch Dr. Phil, much more than read his books, his books seem to go right over my head, seems like too much psycho-babble to read for me. But I love his show. Good luck, Lisa
Lisa - Like JJ, I have just purchased the videos and have made it through the first one. Agree wholeheartedly with his synopsis. Currently W would not be interested in watching them but I plan on squeezing some viewing time in during my job search over the next couple of weeks.
