Does anyone that has had their spouse return home know if the spouse was happy while they were involved in the affair or if they felt a lot of guilt?

rysmom,

I just wanted to just add in a thought here. You've been at this for over 4 years and are asking the same questions since Day 1. I really am concerned about you. I hope you are still seeing the C so that you can start getting some peace for you and your son.

For yours and your son's sake, you've got to detach. Protect your finances and yourself first and LIVE.

BTW, if you really want to get into the mind of an adulterous spouse, go to survivinginfidelity.com and you can read some of the responses there.

There's a forum on ivillage FOR OtherPerson's.. All women engaged in infidelity with married men... at least I never saw a single male post yet.

Pretty sad forum if you ask me.. very catty.. women criticizing everything and anything.. very angry...

Probably not what you were looking for anyways...

I think when you are experiencing and pursuing any addiction you may feel high or feel a crash and need a new fix, but I can't imagine any of that cycle would be called "happy".. though the high part of the cycle may appear as if one is happy... its just a high of deluded excitement.. Its not the contentment bought on by hard work and sacrificial love.. its a selfish deluded excitement...

Short term stuff... From what I have read you can't find happiness while lying and hurting people... Does anyone actually think you CAN?
