I haven't been around here lately. Just been kinda bummed out. Found out last week that the wife already filed for divorce. She told me about it so that I wouldn't be surprised when I receive the divorce papers. I'm kinda getting upset though as she received her papers in the mail on Saturday and today is Wednesday and I still have not been served yet.

Found out that the first court date is Sept. 7th, which is less than 2 weeks away. I'm also upset that the court proceedings are not at the county courthouse, but instead are being held in a nearby city hall that is in a very dangerous neighborhood/city.

I do not know if I need a lawyer or not until I get the paperwork, but the wife is starting to freak me out by stating that there are 3 petitions that I will not like. Isn't there suppose to be a certain amount of time between the time I am served until the actual court date? I'm just asking because what if I don't get served until a few days before the court date...am I suppose to read and sign the numerous pages and obtain an attorney with only a few days notice? I'm just so bummed out.

only if you stayed bummed out.

if you don't have a L, then that's your first order of business in the am. they can possibly file a continuance to respond

I haven't been around in awhile. Thought I would pop in and give a recap. I didn't have to go to the original court hearing as our lawyers were able to work out an agreement during the last minute. I am still miserable, but am trying to get another job so that I can at least try to support myself. Was thinking of getting a pet (preferably a kitten) to keep me company. I still talk to the wife every few days, but still get into arguments frequently. The EA is still going on even though she still says it's only a friendship. My family is a little supportive, but my friends don't really understand what I'm going through. I think I really do need some type of mental counseling to get through this as I just can't seem to get my mind out of the gutter. Today would be day 109 since the separation and I still cry daily. Just hurts thinking about how my life partner doesn't want me anymore and had to file so soon.

Thanks, I will for sure have to find a copy of that book. It sounds like it is exactly what I need right now.
