My marriage is not over yet and I am doing everything I can to salvage it. That said, I am a devoted Catholic and am very worried what happens if my wife divorces me and leaves. I mean, I know what the church's official position is, but what if any feedback has anyone received who has actually gone through a divorce????

My Ex-wife is Catholic.

The bible says to give your wife the D if she asks for it. It also says not to remarry.....

DO NOT TRY AND CONTROL YOUR WIFE. Let her leave. Draw her back over time with the changes you make to your beliefs, thoughts, words and actions.....

Barkley,
One is not excommunicated for being divorced in the Catholic Church. It is when one remarries, following a civil divorce which has not been annulled by the Church, that precludes communion.

Is that what you wondering?

Barkley ~
I don't know about that. Annulments happen everyday. It's possible you might seek one someday and be able to remarry. Never say never.

that's interesting,
I've heard someone mention that before,
are you able to show me a direct quote from within the bible saying that?

you can remarry if it ever comes to it and I personally don't think you will be ex-communicated from the roman catholic church if you do remarry after getting divorced without an annulment.

you're worrying about something that hasn't happened yet, let's worry about today, instead of worrying about tomorrow.

Become a protestant. Problem solved.

Just kidding. Just making a little funny. Really little.
