I am watching this interview on Oprah of John Edwards' mistress and she is saying the most RIDICULOUS stuff! She was supposedly "helping" him find his true self and live a life of truth...
What were your thoughts on this interview?

1. Oprah's not a family therapist 2. Oprah's not a reputation to uphold - if people go on her show and get attacked no one wants to be on there anymore 3. Oprah's made comments supporting infidelity before I had read someplace.. I think it was Penny Tuppy's site that said it 4. Oprah's only got one hour to run a show, even if she did have the maturity and the talent to dig deeper, she hasn't the time to air it
Check out Dr Phil's show on Oct 28 - 29 2009. He did a two hour show of an affair intervention... I put a clip of it up on youtube and there are a couple others from the same show - not the whole two hours, but some good stuff smile

Here are highlights so far that I am responding to:
Rielle $unter is a life coach apparently...she wanted to "help" Johnny be his authentic self.
Oh did she think about the fact that she was destroying his family? Well it was problematic to begin with- not HER fault.
Did she consider telling Johnny to end it with his W and then come to her? Yes but "their hearts were louder than the minds!"
And she is a private person who believes in truth. So going on Oprah and then helping to betray a spouse really supports this.
I am cracking up watching Oprah's face as $unter answers these q's!!!
Oh and Allen, if I wanted advice about relationships you better believe Dr. Phil would be the one to ask. But Oprah is just for fun. Sure she has said some wise things and I have learned a lot from some of her shows but watching this interview is about something else altogether!

Oh she thinks Johnny needs to live a life of integrity before he ran for president.......
Oprah calls her on her integrity asking if $unter was not living a life of integrity. The idiot actually said she was following her heart and believed this was the right thing to do.She was waiting for Johnny to figure it out and come around....
and Johnny renewed his vows while $unter was pregnant!!!!!
She felt crushed that he could stand before God to make a vow that is not true...but she didn't think less of him????? She understood his process???He became the father of her child and that changes things-
THEY NEVER USED BIRTH CONTROL BECAUSE SHE WAS IN LOVE!
She was devestated watching the interview where he denied paternity....but blamed it on Elizabeth Edwards pushing him to do it. Said he was trying to fix what was broken...He was messed up and trying to make his life one of integrity by covering it up with lies?????He was CHANGING(and she was willing to help).
She did the photographs for GQ (oops-she is a private person,not a homewrecker,not flashy)and said it was a big mistake...she wanted a sexy shot where the world can see her as a beautiful woman. not the wicked witch like the media has portrayed her. Oh but she lives a life of integrity and is a private person.
She doesn't need marriage to define her...(maybe bc she doesn't respect it?)
People's hatred directed to her is related to their own judgment of right and wrong, based on people's own personal experiences...it doesn't mean that what she did was wrong. ?????it doesn't have to do with HER...
she has become a better person from the process- more patient, compassionate, understanding and aware...more authentic and truth in who she is....she was following her heart.
When Oprah asked if $unter's pursuit of her truth has hurt others? She said her intention was never to hurt anyone...everyone has been hurt by the whole process...she would not answer to say if she has hurt Elizabeth Edwards.
She does not regret being a mistress although it went against everything she believed in, she learned a lot from it so it was good...she wouldn't want to repeat it...
