I propose this new thread for those occasions when one of us has a thought, insight, book recommendation, evocative quote or something poignant that they would like to share with all of us.

On such occasions, I have posted such nuggets on my own thread, (as have many of us) which in the case of even the most "popular" or most-visited threads reaches only a small percentage of those of us on Newcomers.

I don't know how these things work: they are subject, I imagine, to the approval of the moderators and the general acceptance and interest level of all of you.

So here goes. I will start with the two following posts. I hope you all join in and we can all benefit from our individual Aha! nuggets.

Don't know who/what he was (lyricist?), didn't recognize the name at all. At one point the interviewer mentions and offers condolences over the recent passing of this gentleman's gay partner of some 60+ years.

Paraphrasing/remembering, here: "How did you last that long? What's the secret?" Well, this gentleman looks at the interviewer like he had two heads and responded immediately, "We never gave up on each other; we never quit on each other. That's the problem these days: everybody gives up on each other."

Hope all of you people who - like this gentlemen and his departed love - never give up, never quit, had as good a Thanksgiving Day as possible.

Hope For The Flowers by Trina Paulus

Everyone - every DBer -Please buy this book! It will do your heart and spirit much good. This book has been one of my all-time favorites for over thirty years since I first bought it to read to my young boys and soon realized that despite its children's book look and approach, it was an adult's book. (My boys, did like it, too, by the way. They - and their children - have their own copies).

I have re-read it countless times over the years.

As you read, you will realize that all of us on this board are "Yellow" all of us are waiting on - and trying to point the way to "Stripe"

Trust me. Buy it. If I could, I would buy one for each of you!

"I Do Again." The first half gives you tremendous insight in how a WAW can go from loving to "I never loved you."

The second half is the 7-year path to remarrying. That part was harder to read because I'm not sure I'd wait that long even with how much I love W.

“When you get to the end of all the light you know and it's time to step into the darkness of the unknown, faith is knowing that one of two things shall happen: either you will be given something solid to stand on, or you will be taught how to fly.”

Edward Teller.

I found this a few months after my H left, really at just the time that I needed to hear it.

From Coach

What is the behavior that you find unacceptable?

How does it make you feel?

What are the consequences if the behavior repeats?
