My wife and I have been married for almost 18 years and like most, if not all, marriages we have had good and bad times and have worked through some rough issues from hard times to an EA she had.
Recently she has become somewhat withdrawn, spends a large amount of time with her friends (all of whom are single) which includes occasional all night stays. We are going through counseling with a Christian pro-marriage counselor and I thoght we were making some advancements but it seems for every step forward we make we take three backwards.
I am working on my own issues that include insecurities brought on by seeing my mother go through 7 divorces in my life which caused some issues on my part. My wife just seems to be more interested in her friends than in working on things with us or even spending time with me. I work full time and she stays home at the moment and has alot of free time in which to spend with her friends yet she sees the need to spend as much as 12 hours at a time with them plus evenings and weekends. I have tried talking to her about it and bringing it up at counseling, it gets better for a few days then reverts back again.
She has taken to keeping a secret journal, which is not a big deal except she keeps it on her 24/7 even though I promised I would not look at it and meant it. She leeps letters of some form tucked away as well. It seems as if she is keeping secrets.
While I am not at all a fan of divorce I am quickly running out of ideas and patience....
These forums are basically a last dich effort, yes I have read Michelles book.
any kids? i didn't see you mention any from your previous posts. what are you doing with your free time? do you stay at home? maybe it's time you became a little more interesting yourself and appear to have your own secrets. lol i'm no expert by any means, but i know you need to do something to at least draw some attention to yourself.
and don't let your W get to you too much. don't let her see you upset, the usual DB stuff.
and if the approach you are using now isn't working, well you know what they around here.... try something different.
We have three boys, 15, 12 and 8. I work, attend college and go to the gym, that is about it. We have the one car atm and she insists on having it so she can go hang out with her friends so I get stuck at the house.
I have never been one to consider a divorce and have worked hard to get things fixed, Im just frustrated at this point and am running out of ideas.
