Pending means that it will be sold, subject to all the little things in the contract like passing inspection, getting the loan, and having a clear title. Pending is off the market and moving to the act of sale.
Inspection will be on Saturday! I work my second job, but get off at 3, then heading to the house to meet up with the inspector and go over his findings, and possibly point out the great little stuff my mom and brother found if he didn't notice it.
Still no word from XH. Really, really, really want my name off his stupid car before I have a house, since I then have serious assets that someone he hits could come after me for. *sigh* But he's not being cooperative at all.

Will you please just give me the license plate and VIN? Even if my name is off the title, a release of liability needs to be done. I would really like to file that soon as I am in the process of buying a house and do not want someone to try and go after my house as an asset if something were to happen.
Hopefully that is short enough and plain enough.

How about car insurance, Michelle? Is that in his name? My XH had to sign something for them to actually take him off mine after D. It was total bullsh*t.

My name is off the insurance. Which pissed him off cuz his rates jumped up since I've never had any accidents or tickets *knock on wood*
The car title is hard though. Since it was purchased together, technically he should be buying me out. To get my name off the title, we actually sell it to him, and he pays taxes on the sale. Since he's broke and uncooperative , this hasn't happened. The divorce decree says that car is his, but since my name is on the title, if he hits someone, they could also come after me. Even if he never takes my name off the title, I can fight any liability with a copy of the settlement agreement and a release of liability (this is what happens when you go to law school, one of my friends actually had a case like this, so he told me to at least do a release of liability form lol).
But to do the release of liability, I need the license plate and VIN. I think I remember the plate. I don't have the VIN.
Hmmmm, I know where he works (I think, if he's still there). Maybe I could swing by the copy down the info....if I remember correctly his VIN is etched on a plate on the front dash....
