May God give you . . .
For every storm, a rainbow,
For every tear, a smile,
For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends,
A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer
May God hold you in the palm of His hand

Saw the Irish Rovers yesterday, and they sang this song:

LET HIM GO, LET HIM TARRY

chorus:
Let him go, let him tarry, let him sink or let him swim;
He doesn't care for me, and I don't care for him
He can go and find another, and I hope she'll bring him joy
For I'm goin' to marry a far nicer boy.

Farewell to cold winter, now that summer's come at last;
Nothing have I gained, but my true love I have lost.
I'll sing and I'll be happy like a bird upon the tree
For since he deceived me, I care no more for he.

chorus

He wrote me a letter saying he was very bad,
I sent him back an answer saying I was very glad.
He wrote me another saying he was well and strong,
But I care no more for him than the ground he walks upon.

chorus

Some of his friends had a good kind wish for me,
Others of his friends, they could hang me from a tree;
But soon I'll let them see my love, and soon I'll let them know
That I can get a new sweetheart on any ground I go.

chorus

He can go to his old mother,now, and set her mind at ease,
For she's a mean old woman, and very hard to please,
It's slighting me and talking ill is all she's ever done
Since I was courtin' her great big ugly son.

chorus

This is great, Ellie.

Both the ex and I are approximately half Irish. I think I could have written that...the bit about the letter especially rings true!

Spitty, time to get the toys out for a spin around 270. Mine's all cleaned up, new tires, just need to change the oil and ready to go. It's been out a little bit on the sunny days of recent time, but just itching to let it rip.

Just about everything is going fine (except this year I've gotten some allergies to tree pollen which I've never had). Treated myself to a little weekend trip over to Atlantic City NJ week and a half back. Hadn't been on the boardwalk in about 8 years, somethings have radically changed, and others are the same as usual. It was a nice getaway.
The work travel is starting to heat up a bit more, so it's been crunch time getting the flower beds and mulch all set.
No, I don't do facebook, I'm probably one of the few remaining hold outs.
How are things with Spitty, the college boys, and that neat little car?
