I guess I'll stick around here since this is where I seem to be most of the time anyway!
Thanks again to Virginia for letting me come back.

So the latest is that tonight I asked my husband if we could have a Super Bowl party.
He asked if I'd make his (stinky, smelly) dip.
Of course I said "Yes"
So we're having a Super Bowl party.
It won't be a big throw down or anything, just us and the kids, maybe a couple other folks.
I didn't even plan to ask.
It just rolled out when we were talking on the phone and there it was - and he said we could do it.

Now tomorrow "Kool and the Gang" are rollin' into town so I have to get some sleep!
Oh, I'm going over to the house tomorrow evening for no reason.
I'm not really even sure how that plan come about but it did and I'm sure it'll be great!
Jeff actually goes back on a normal M-F 7-3:30 shift come Monday.
THANK GOD FOR THAT.
Shift work has been a major dysfunction for us for YEARS so it will be good for him which will mean good for D13 - which means less stress for me and therefore less stress for S16 who has to live with me when I'm stressing!

So far 2009 ain't so bad!

There is no way I am going to be able to sleep.

I will look like road kill tomorrow...

I need a Pop Tart.

I've had too much soda!

AMYC, I don't know what the future holds for you, but of all of the many people that I have seen come and go in my nearly 3 years on this board, I have the most respect and admiration for you. It takes someone of tremendous heart and character to come from where you came and do the things you have done to try to rebuild your marriage and family. I truly wish you the very best in your efforts. I am a bit of a cynic when it comes to dealing with MLC, and I have some opinions that do ruffle some feathers on this board, but you are truly the exception to the rule!

Well it's about bloody time.......

Slow and easy wins the race!

And just being Amy.

There can be no testimony without a test.
I am praying to go through this test and come out the other end with a new and better marriage then before.

Well, I for one am glad to hear that Jeff's going back to normal shift hours!!

In a perfect world, opposite shifts are hard to deal with and in an otherwise perfect world.....well....

Which means D13 gets to have more Mommy Daughter bonding time
and
S16 gets less.....

Win win all the way!

Well the Super Bowl party was great.
Lots of laughing between us and the kids.
I made a pizza bubble ring and some of BND's meatballs and Jeff and S16 made hot wings and they made the stinky dip, too. D13 had a friend over and they were right in the middle of everything with us. It was a lot of fun. Lots of joking and bantering, putting his hand on my back when he walked around me in the kitchen and stuff...he playfully pinched my side once and I asked him if he noticed that he pinched more than an inch. He said that was okay because he'd been "reading up on loving big women". I busted out laughing and high-fived him because that was quick! Another time, he walked behind me when I was sitting in a chair and he ran his hand through the back of my hair. Sometimes the only way I know I don't live there anymore is because I leave at the end of the night...

He said he loves being back on the M-F, 7-3:30 shift.
He's got seniority and people are coming to him for advice and he said it makes him feel good. I am very, very thankful for that because he has needed it so badly.

So lots of changes that have been a loooong time coming and other things are still just idling.

I have gotten the feeling in the last day or so that I'm going to have to tighten up and stand back in the gap.

No clear "word" on that yet, though - not that I can claim I've really be listening.

But I'm tentatively thinking "maybe".

Maybe just one more for the road...

I wish I had the strength to stand as long as you have.
