Yes, both "s"s are silent. I was in Des Moines a few years back. Believe it or not - it was one of the first steps I took in my "Get A Life" plan. Met a DB guy at a party in Tampa who took photos. He lived in Iowa. He offered to take my photos at the Bridges of Madison County. I had told him I LOVED that movie! So we travelled to all the bridges and I have a wonderful photo album of memories. I was NOT ready to date at that point but it really improved my PMA (Positive Mental Attitude) and helped me remember that I have a lifetime ahead of me in which to grow, learn and teach. I learned a lot on that trip.
