I went today and checked out my new school. Had to feel pretty good as the secretary gave me a big hug
and
the principal said that my phone interview was the most dynamic interview he has ever been involved with (including face to face) and by the 2nd question he had written down in big letters "HIRE THIS WOMAN!!!!!"
So that was nice
I got my class schedule and about crapped my pants
I am teaching everything outside of my comfort zone
grammar?!?!?!?! journalism?!?!?!?! Julius Ceaser?!?!?!?!
and
i have all different classes
which is different
like last year I taught 7 classes but there were really only 3 I needed to do prep for
this year I have no repeaters
so
every class is a new class
YIKES!!!!
this next month will be a mad scramble
but
the class sizes are tiny like 50 in the whole class
which means it will be easy to get to know people
last night a neighbor stopped by with a cake to welcome us to the neighborhood
and
i moved all the boxes that are left to the porch so it looks cleaner in the house
Sounds like you have a great admin team! I hear ya on the prep. When do classes actually start? And do you mean each class of 7 total is "only" 50 students? YIKES!
Thank goodness for the Internets.
Civilization is only a click away.
Seems like journalism would be a natural for you. Do you get to make a paper or yearbook or something?
warm wishes SG

In another life I lived 5 miles from a town of 200. I cross countried skied to get grocries and meds at times in the winter, heated with wood, and could pee in my back yard without getting arrested (requirement for location). It was good.

Everybody did know everybody but outside of the Fire Dept I pretty much kept to myself. Nothing against the folks just did not have much in common. However it was a good life and lived it for a decade
