Hey G, you didnt say you were moving over here did you?
I think you are ahead of the curve for the most part as far as surviving goes and from your stuff over in newcomers would say you have a great head on your shoulders.
There are a lot of really good folks on this forum who have run the gammatt as far as situations go so nothing is off limits over here and it's pretty rare when you find that no one has been in your position.
Sorry that you find yourself here. This is a far different board than Newcomers. Most of us have already walked through the fire or are in the process, so you get some great advice from some really smart people. Why we are even known to find ourselves laughing out loud from time to time, and boy does that feel good! So good luck on your journey......
lnf - Raunch and debauchery sounds like what I need right now. It looks like I've found a home I can settle right into. Ian - thanks for the welcome. It's nice (at least for me) to see a familiar face. And thanks for the compliment, though this is one case where I would have rather not be ahead of the game, if you know what I mean. Kat, I can always count on you. BTW - Hellboy II, first showings are tonight at midnight!
Walked around the city during the day. Warm and sunny, it was beautiful. My purple-haired D14 and her drama troop rang the closing bell at NASDAQ which is right next to where they rehearse near Times Square. I met her for dinner, then rode to her mother's house with her.
A very brief email from W last night. Just a hi, how are you. It's like we are strangers these days. It really gets to me.
Counter offer on the house. We are getting very close. I think we will pin down the details very soon! Anyone want to buy a nice place in Maine?

Hey ummmmm... have any drinks left?
The bar is open. What can I get you?
It is nice to see the atmosphere here. Newcomers was really getting to me. The steady stream of hopelessness and despair. I just couldn't keep the threads straight and couldn't stomach any more new ones. I feel an obligation to lend a hand but it was getting to me. Maybe when the waves of nausea settle down, I'll dip my toes back in the waters over there. Until then, thanks again everyone for the warm welcomes!

I love the snow. I really looked forward to every storm, like a little kid. And I didn;t even get snow days! It is the second-biggest thing I will miss when I finally move.

I forgot to mention where I saw that you said your daughter is tight lipped about her Mom and the divorce. She is trying to spare your feelings and doesn't know how else to do it but not to dredge it up. It says a whole lot about how she feels about her Dad.
