Can we do it! Yes We Can!!!! (sorry my kids are almost 3 and they like Bob the builder).

I'm up for more days.....I think I am actually going on a couple weeks now....but just sign me up for the four in this contest. Yesterday was a tough one (not even sure why), but this site got me through it. Today seems much better already, so I see no R talks in my future.

Question - does it count as an R talk if the spouse initiates it and you mostly listen? Afterall isn't the purpose of DB to get them to come around and want to talk and work on the R

I bit the dust in the first round. But I'll keep cheering you guys on. And technically, after Monday there can't be any R talk if there ain't no R.

Hi Jen,

I haven't posted to your thread, but I read it when I can. You are one funny girl! I adore your quick wit and awesome sense of humor.

I loved your post yesterday on someone else's thread about not being able to edit our posts anymore. Something like: "think, type, send, swear". You crack me up.

You sound like you're doing great (but I better catch up on your sitch in case things have changed...).

I'll be back.

I have a student who was born in Argentina but grew up in Venezuela. When you hear her speak she sounds like every other Venezuelan except when she talks to other Argentines. Her boss thought she was making fun of some Argentine clients because she stated talking like them.

This made me giggle.

My parents are from Cuba, But I have the Accent down pact! ;\)

Anywhoo, the X is from Argentina. I would laugh when he was with my family, and the Cuban came out, and then he could be with his family and quickly be able to go back to the, Che and Vos. The Argentinian accent is very different. I love to hear it though.

I bet the Arepas there in Venezuela are to die for.

Have a great weekend.

Hi Everyone! I'm gonna address everyone according to their posts. OK?

TD...I'm more like Lofty "yeah I think so" \:\) Keep going and you'll find it get's easier not to have R talks. I don't think you can get disqualified if your Sp starts the R talk. There's nothing you can do. Of course if you start talking about the R after Sp has initiated you can get disqualified. Sound fair?

Addie...thanks so much! I'm in the middle of packing now. Shouldn't be too difficult not to RT without H around. I hope I don't get trapped on the cell phone though.

Gforce...I think that even if you're not M anymore there is still some sort of R especially if there are kids invloved. Just don't fall into the trap of talking about the past R.

Girl...thanks. You made me smile by the nice compliments but I can't take credit for the Kramer joke. Gforce called himself Kramer when he had an R talk with his W a day after the challenge. Feel free to post whenever you want.

Lissie...The Argentine accent for me is similar to Portugese. Venezuelans don't really like Argentines. They say Argentines are arrogant. :)It's not something I've noticed. As for the arepas they are devine especially with Reina Pepiada (think I spelled that wrong). It's an arepa filled with a chicken and avacado mushy salad.

For anyone who doesn't know and arepa is a corn flour patty. What they do is slit it open like a pocket, scoop out the insides and fill it with various things such as ham and cheese, scrambled eggs, chicken etc.

Arepas for everyone!!!!!

Jen,

Have a great week in Canada eh! I hope your H has plenty of time to miss you and think....just remember to play it cool when you get back.

The rules sound fair. We should be able to have a little ticker on our signature that counts the number of days since our last self initiated R talk. Sort of like they have on some of the parenting boards for the age of their children.

One time while in Mississippi I was asked where I was from by a loan officer to which I replied New England.

The young lady looked very puzzled for a while, just looking and listening to me and then finally said "You don't sound like you have abritish accent!"
