Hey MM, where in Canada are you? My H is on his merry way to a business meeting in Edmonton where I think it's supposed to be 15F. He was in SoCal this morning, a big weather difference!

CW, I'm in Vancouver, the Lotus Land of Canada. It is gorgeous here right now. It rarely snows here, and we are now in full-on springtime (with an occasional blip)...blossoms are out, flowers blooming, and winter is a memory.

Edmonton is about 800 miles to the northeast, beyond the Rockies. I am only 10 miles from the US border.

Amy, I love the south. I worked for a month last year in South Carolina, and spent time in Knoxville, New Orleans and Austin at various times.

I knew you were within driving distance of Seattle, and if I recall my geography correctly, isn't Edmonton north of Calgary? Brrr.

We met a really nice couple who live on Vancouver Island while vacationing in Maui last year. We've kept in touch and the father called just a couple of weeks ago with another invitation to come visit. I have very good friends in Remond whom I haven't seen in a few years so I'm thinking about hitting Seattle and driving up to Vancouver Island from there. My kids are great road-trippers, is that a feasible plan?
