Ellie - that in itself would be a good reason to date him!

Althea - the farting was just too much! Bad enough when you're married, but after a MONTH???? I mean, if he were George Clooney, maybe...but just maybe.

Have fun tomorrow!

(((althea))),
What a pick-me-up your thread is today...there is a lot to laugh about this new, later in life dating phase.

Now about that karate guy, is his liking for kids based on his actually having raised some, or is it just a theoretical thing with him? Just wondering.

Enjoy.

Althea

This guy did you a huge favor, he was honest ... as much as he knows how. He showed you several faults that he considers acceptable behavior. He said "HI, I chase M women and if we hit it off I will probably even find some reason to be unfaithful in our R, like you have kids or something."

As for the passing gas thing, you should have come back by saying "No I don't mind at all, and since we are going to be so comfortable with each other now would you please run down to the store and get me some feminine hygene stuff ... I just ran out"

Maybe just to show him there are no hard feelings, you could go on eBay and get him a real leather chess set. Send it to him with a story about your once in a lifetime exotic journey all the way across the internet and back to get it.

AH, I know, the more I think about it, the funnier it seems!

Ian darlin' if you're wearing sweats and farting in the first month of dating dude then, well, DON'T!!!

LOL!

Okay so Karate Guy (by the way he was ranked among the top 5 heavy weight champs in NASKA for about ten years) has 2 children and wanted them very badly. Has full custody of his son and 60% custody of his daughter. But will he be interested in another woman's children? We'll see. One of the things he told me he was attracted to and that we shared in common was our love for our kids--so this is a good thing no?

And also, as a bonus, if he looks anything like his picture then he's gorgeous. I'll up"date" you all on Sunday. He is coming from about an hour away and he told me he got a hotel room so that he wouldn't have to worry about drinking and driving and also the weather and roads here are terrible. I'm actually a little worried about the kids' flight to Boston tomorrow.

Ellie, you're funny. I remember eons ago when you told me guys were intimidated by hieght the way women were intimidated by thinness. Yes, to be perfectly honest, I would love for Mitch to see me with a hunky, tall, wonderful athletic type.

I'm doing well in the aftermath of his big news. I can't explain it, but I feel very unemotional about it. I think I have expected it for so long that when he told me, it hardly shocked me at all. He will tell the kids this weekend and then we will just deal with it as we need to.

Our Middle School had their swimming championships last night and my oldest is a diver and a swimmer and our school won and Augie placed 2nd in diving!! Woot woot! It was a great night.

Love to all!
Althea

Good Luck Tommorrow, Althea!

Karate Guy sounds wonderful - hope that is so in person.

Yes the East is VERY snowy. It is crazy here - Josh has decided to come from Toronto by train tommorrow rather than risk driving in the white stuff. That is UNUSUAL!

Are the kids on a non-stop flight? That would be best since it is not likely to take off if they suspect weather problems at the other end.

And just a thought - if my ex were transferred across the country - I'd be in a state of total euphoria. I know its best for the kids for dad to be nearby but not having to see him weekly would be wonderful, don't you think?

Great date with karate man last night. Woot woot.

He was a gentleman. He treated me sweetly. He's a great kisser! We had dinner and went to listen to a live band afterwards. I ran into a lot of people I knew at the club. We had a lot of fun! He wouldn't let me help pay for anything \:\)

I asked point blank if he minded that I had four children and he instantly said "absolutely not, I love that you're a great mother." He told me some good stories about when he was competing and about the time Arnold Schwarzenegger and Chuck Norris watched him fight once.

He remembered so many things I had told him in emails.

He's a down to earth guy and he is very affectionate and attentive.

So far, so good. NO red flags yet. We'll see--I'm chilled and realistic.

Love,
A
