There's a couple of things that don't seem the same from a couple of years ago. Like after I had read an item it used to change to a darker gray so it was easy to see what was unread - and I used to read everything. That doesn't happen now - how do I turn it back on. Also, with a couple of clicks it was possible to see how many members were on the forum, who they are and what they are doing such as reading a post, writing a reply etc. I like that feature but can't remember how to show it. Those two things were lost when the board was reformatted.
Seeing who's online is no longer possible... if someone has found this feature, please enlighten us.
The way to tell if a thread has new posts is the icon at the beginning of the line in the forum view. If the file folder (or whatever) is yellow, there are new posts.
For a few days after the new format, the instant messaging feature was on and that was really fun! Then the powers that be disabled it.
I've actually forgotten how the old format worked.
Thanks Lillieperl. Those features were really good. I used to like to see who else was active. It somehow made it exciting knowing you, hairdog and honeypot etc. were on at the same time. The instant messaging must have been fun too. I don't know why they would disable it - maybe to prevent flirting! All the best, SD
