Perhaps this is the wrong site to ask but how does the divorce process work? I am in Michigan and have a 17S.
My WAW filed on 11/21/07. I have a pretrial conference on 2/5/08. As of now we are both amicable and the D at this point will be uncontested. We will have joint legal and physical custody of 17S. We will split our assets 50/50. I am DBing my butt off and hoping for a reconciliation.
Questions: What goes on at the pretrial? What is the sequence of events after pretrial? My wife rented a condo but wants the house. At this point I intend to refinance and buy her out. My son and I are in the house. Is there anything that can be done to delay the process-I would like to slow things down a bit. I have hired an attorney on an as needed basis-so far have spent about $300 for 1 1/2 hours of advice. Anything to watch out for or be aware of that veterans can share?
