Does menopause cause strange things to occur with skin sensations? Does it cause itching? Does it cause women to not like being touched? My wife claims that my attentions to her breasts cause them to itch, so I essentially have not had access to her breasts for months. Other parts of her body don't bother her, just the breasts.
Is this real, and is there anything that can be done for this?
I don't know about menopause, but I have heard that a hysterectomy can change your sensation in your breasts, so maybe the same thing? I don't know. Look it up on the internet. Sure hope my hysterectomy doesn't change this on me b/c that was my favorite focal point!

Cemar - menopause can cause all kinds of skin irritations - including itching. It can also cause a lot of the same sensations that a woman has during menstruating (sore breasts etc.)
Another common one is a feeling of the "crawlies" (which I get )
So yes, it is one of the MANY "things" a woman has to go through while experiencing peri-menopause/post-menopause

All depends on how intense it is, and how far into peri-menopause she is. Peri-menopause lasts an average of 10 years for most women, but the symptoms can continue on long after that also.
If the symptoms are severe, she can get medication (either natural or prescribed - I preferred to go natural) and balance out her system that way, allowing her to go through peri-menopause at a much more comfortable pace and putting less strain and frustration on herself, and those around her (i.e. YOU)
I think the first course of action is for her to determine how these symptoms are affecting her life (and I am sure it isn't the only one she is having if she is truly going through peri-menopause) and seek out perhaps the assistance of a herbalist or naturopath
