Lil,

Ouch. I'm grateful it wasn't your hands (thus, your ability to type)!

Feel better! Hope you have a speedy recovery!

Thanks, y'all, for the good wishes. Y'all are the best! I'm feelin' the good vibes through the airwaves.

The ortho guy couldn't see me today, but I got a wheelchair and a walker. I'll see him Monday, I think.

Also bf was behaving like an a$$hole this morning. He had to take his mom to chemo and also close on a very big land purchase (the 50 acres next to mine in the country), and yeah, that was a lot on his plate, BUT when he's under stress, he feels that gives him a right to be rude.

Days like this I want to bail... especially when it's a day when SOOO many total strangers treat you like a princess. The manager of the practice (primary care doc, not ortho) even bought my lunch today just for the heck of it. I noticed this when I used to take my late H places in the wheelchair-- people are so kind and thoughtful. Everyone I encountered was so nice... why is my SO such a jerk? Yeah, yeah, he's under a lot of stress... but that's no excuse to be hateful to me, especially when I'm sitting there with a broken ankle.

I'm such an idiot for sticking with him for so long... what will it take to make me see the light and dump him? And now he's my neighbor. The property has a garage on it. Some VERY nice people bought it and put in a well and electricity, and were getting ready to build a house, but then the guy got laid off and had to sell it in a hurry. So my bf talked to his mom and they decided to buy it. It's a fantastic investment. Development is coming my way, alas, but by the time I need the $$$ for the nursing home, my property will be worth a fortune. I only have 13 acres. His 50 acres is going to go through the roof.

Glad you're doing well, Lou. We do need a thread entitled "Sick Call." LOL!

Hi, Lillieperl.

I am very sorry to hear about your ankle. I hope you heal quickly.

All the best,

Howdy everyone,
This is one serendipitous thread title, to be sure. I simply googled SSM and was magically transported here.

I am sorry to hear about your ankle, Lilli, and I hope you are a fast knitter, STS.

I was sitting at home solo tonight, thinking about how grateful I am for all of the help from everyone here at the SSM forum. Cyndi is off taking care of her sick mother, and while I was missing her, I remembered immediately how much I owe to you folks here. I wish that I was the type of person like Nopkins, Honeypot, Lilli, GEL and everyone else here that has the time and wherewithal to give back all that I received here. The best that I can do is duck back in ever so often and say how thankful I am that you folks exist.

I never really beleived in miracles, but now I see that they exist. I am so happy that I stumbled upon this trove of treasure, and will do my very best to share everything that I gave learned here.

In hindsight, I have realized how perilously close I was to losing my marriage. I am happy to say that I saved my marriage on honest terms, and have made sure that I have met the needs of my W through the help of this wonderful crew.

God bless you all!

Glad you're doing well, Lou.
Thanks Lil.

but I got a wheelchair and a walker BTDT several times.
That sounds like BB's older relatives. All dead now but we still have the walkers and wheel chairs in case we hear about someone that needs one. So far, we loaned then out a couple of times.

The local ortho. Pharmacy sells them for $300 each but I bought the loaners new for a little over $100 a piece.

If I had 50 acres I would be rich. All the land in MT, some not worth much but in town some is worth $50,000 for a half acre, undeveloped. If the streets and water/sewer is in it starts at $50,000 per 1/4 acre.

BUT when he's under stress, he feels that gives him a right to be rude.
Hum??? Does it give him the right in his mind, really? Or does he not know how to multitask?

I don't know your bf but consider his lack of multi tasking skills. It could feel to him he is on overload like you said.

Anyway (((((Lil))))) here is wishing you a start on a recovery with the ankle and a couple of cyber hugs just because.

Lou

PS
BB is taking care of another dog. The people are in the military and went overseas for a year or two. She is happy and I am OK with the dog staying here. It is one way to pay back some people for serving our country. Population=4 dogs, 3 cats, 1 big bird.

csw, It is wonderful to hear good news! Best wishes to you and your W.

Lil, Where are u? Remember the RICE diet ( rest, ice, compression, elevation). No weightbearing at all til you see the orthopod. I will not be surprised at all if you need surgery; in fact, I'd be surprised if you didn't. Please check in when you can.

Question:
DOB 11/13/19??.

I'm in the non-profit/grant-writing business. I was raised a good old-fashioned devout Roman Catholic girl pre Vatican II days-- Latin Mass.

I attended Catholic grade school, I was in the 5th grade circa 1959. In high school I was valedictorian, and was in college in the fall of 1967

In 1977, I'm in a graduate class in Child Development, Later I Taught English in college.

Recently I broke my ankle.

Who am I?
