I think it posesses some of the anger that I harbour presently. It's definitely a nice fantasy

Before He Cheats - Carrie Underwood

Do you have any personal favorite cheating songs?

(I am not talking about any sappy wish you came back songs)

Carrie Underwood seems to be singing for us that are going through difficult times doesn't she? Her song "Jaded" and "Jesus Take the Wheel" are also very relevant to our situations.

I really like George Strait's song "She Let Herself Go". I so want that to be my anthem, ha!

I heard a Dwight Yokum song on the way home. Said something about

"Maybe I'll be fast as you. Maybe I'll break hearts too. Maybe you'll slow down when your turn to hurt comes around."

Thought that was pretty appropriate.

Eagles: Lyin' Eyes...

The Eagles is about as far "country" as I get. I seem to be in the minority in this regard... Of course, it's no secret that C&W has a deep "tear-in-my-beer" heritage.

Eagles,

Victim Of Love
What kind of love have you got?
You should be home, but you're not
A room full of noise and dangerous boys
Still makes you thirsty and hot

I heard about you and that man,
There's just one thing I don't understand
He say he's a liar, and he put out your fire
How come you still got his gun in your hand?

Victim of love, I see a broken heart
You've got your stories to tell
Victim of love, it's such an easy part,
And you know how to play it so well

Some people never come clean
I think you know what I mean
You're walking a wire, pain and desire,
Looking for love in between

on the other hand

On one hand I count the reasons I could stay with you
And hold you close to me, all night long.
So many lover's games I could play with you
and on that hand I see no reason why it's wrong

Chorus:

But on the other hand, There's a golden band
To remind of someone who would not understand
On one hand I could stay and be your loving man
But the reason I must go is on the other hand

In your arms I feel the passion, I thought had died
When I looked into your eyes I found myself
When I first kissed your lips I felt so alive
I've got to hand it to you girl, you're something else

And if I claim to be a wise man, well
It surely means that I don't know

I wouldn't say this is my favorite song, but the lyrics sure get to you. Ring on her finger, Time on her hands by Reba McEntire

I stood before God, my family and friends,
And vowed that I'd never love anyone else again, only him,

As pure as my gown of white, I stood by his side,
And promised that I'd love you, till the day I died,
Lord, please forgive me even though I lied,
'Cause you're the only one who knows, just how hard I tried,

CHORUS
I had a ring on my finger and time on my hands,
The woman in me needed, the warmth of a man,
The gold turned cold, in my wedding band,
It's just a ring on your finger,
When there's time, on your hands,

Been looking for songs with a little more edge lately;

You could never know what it's like
Your blood like winter freezes just like ice
And there's a cold lonely light that shines from you
You'll wind up like the wreck you hide behind that mask you use

And did you think this fool could never win
Well look at me, I'm coming back again
I got a taste of love in a simple way
And if you need to know while I'm still standing you just fade away

Don't you know I'm still standing better than I ever did
Looking like a true survivor, feeling like a little kid
I'm still standing after all this time
Picking up the pieces of my life without you on my mind

I'm still standing yeah yeah yeah
I'm still standing yeah yeah yeah

Once I never could hope to win
You starting down the road leaving me again
The threats you made were meant to cut me down
And if our love was just a circus you'd be a clown by now
