Hey all --

As I am feeling strong and moving into the next stage of this transition, I also find I need some great quotations and resources that support the courage it takes to do this. So, in the spirit of community, I thought I'd start a place to post quotes that help people get through the ups and downs of these days. Here goes:

It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.

I wanted to bump this for you Anne. Most of the books in my office are filled with equations instead of inspiration so this is the closest I can do:

Two outstanding leadership characteristics are the ability to keep the ultimate goal uppermost in mind and the ability to pursue it enthusiastically.

The greatness comes not when things go always good for you. But the greatness comes when you're really tested, when you take some knocks, some disappointments, when sadness comes. Because only if you've been in the deepest valley can you ever know how magnificent it is to be on the highest mountain.

"Overcome any bitterness that you are not up to the magnitude of the pain that was entrusted to you by the universe. Like the mother of the world carries the pain of the world in her breast, each one of us is a part of her heart. Therefore each is endowed with sharing in the totality of that cosmic pain. You are called upon to meet it in joy instead of self pity." Sufi saying.

Yes, it is ironic. Sad too. He may have had the most brilliant mind of any president. He let his fears conquer him.

Ok, so here's today's late and tomorrow's as well:

For today, which was a shitty day:

"Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says, I'll try again tomorrow." Mary Anne Radmacher

And for tomorrow:

Cheers everyone...

Goal,
My dad said that one too, and, ironically, he used it when H&me got engaged after dating for five years: he said all relationships come to a point where the people have to sh*t or get off the pot... Hmmm, maybe we should have sat and not sh*t quite so quickly. Would that have helped us?

Thanks for adding a great quote that hits the spot. I'm getting off my pot and back on my upward climb (or am I supposed to get on the pot and get busy?)

Cheers -
A
