Amy, was this a "headhunter" In other words, she doesn't directly work for the company she's submitting the resume to?

If that's what you're up against, you have to stay on top of that person. Make sure she knows you are REALLY interested. Those people "fish" for referrals to companies they work with and don't really do a lot for you if you don't pressure them to do so (don't worry, you don't have to DB with them )
