Hey cyber friends,

I have written this post 5 or 6 times in the past week and deleted it. I was reading through past posts and things you have told me before and needed some support.

A number of days ago I just stopped caring.

I don't really see the need to post though. Why not just say read Barney and my posts from last January and February and there we are!!!! Why rehash it? Minus any involvement of a 3rd party. It isn't as bad as then...it is just again...and I am tired of trying so hard on this relationship. Why?

Why try to stay married to a man who can only see what is wrong with me? Why? Why keep trying? He isn't.

I am so fed up I cannot even post to bring you guys up to speed. I am tired. I want to quit.

It is always about me and what I need to do and change. I don't disagree, but he refuses to forgive or try. AS if, he has done nothing that warranted my forgiveness!
I don't care. I am so ready to quit.

Sorry to hear about your state of mind...and the state of your relationship.

Any thoughts about counseling? I can't say it's been a rousing success for me, but it has put as on a slow journey in the right direction.

Hairdog,

I've reread most of the "Sex Starved Marriage" and some of "Marriage on the Rock" in the past week. Both are awesome books. I need to refresh on those again today sometime for the "shot in the arm".

I did go to a counselor recently.

Thanks.

Sorry you are in that mental state. It seems to be more common than we would like it to be. FWIW, you do have friends here. (((((Nicegal)))))

Dear nicegal:

Your exhaustion and stress is apparent, and I am sorry for this place you find yourself in. However, recognizing it and writing about it are good first steps towards making positive changes. Reading Michele Weiner-Davis' books and posting to this community are tremendous support systems and I would like for you to consider telephone coaching as well.

Michele has personally trained a handful of mental health professionals who are well-versed in the DB principles and they are experts at working with the one spouse who is most motivated to save their marriage. Your coach's solution-oriented approach gives you clear-thinking strategies and fresh perspectives for your specific situation and skills you can implement immediately once you hang up the phone.

The hopelessness and apathy can understandably seem overwhelming, but the DB techniques do work rather quickly. If you would like to schedule a consultation, please give me a call at 303.444.7004 or 800.664.2435. I wish you all of the best.

Nancy
