well wasnt as good as it could have been..... NBC Article
She was "shopping" actually to fill in the feelings of her stay-at-home mom vs carreer gal. I shop to get a pleasant rewarding feeling, only balanced lately with where the hell to put it and all...
Its an addiction for a "high", to gain pleasure. To fill in the missing parts of your life. Sounds so familiar to me and this board. You think they'd give you a hug and fix things.

LostGal. The shopping did drop. About 1.5 years ago I said I did not want to live with her if the shopping and some other things did not change. At first BB resisted and kept her addiction going. Then a little at a time, she bought a little less and less. No switch like on to off. It has taken this long for her to get her spending to reasonable levels. She still looks and checks things out but talks to me before buying most big ticket items.
It took about 6 months of not watching QVC regurally for BB to admit she had a shopping adiction. Now she redially admits she was out of control.
BB still wants things but they are things for the house that add value to it.
Sorry you have to buy things that are a substitute for human contact. Huggs to you.
