Gel, you can find ANYTHING on the "internets." Try this out.

Hairdog, getting ready to head back south from Des Moines to KC this morning, but not intending to head further south to Oklahoma, as he heard they have Air Quality issues there.

HD,

Leave it to you to find something like that!!!

Gel,

I'm not a dr at all...but the first thing that comes to mind is lactose intolerance - and it's easy to find over-the-counter meds for that. In fact, if H is reluctant to go to the Dr. (which of course, he should) maybe he could first talk to a pharmacist - at least they could help him get some temp. relief.

Keeping my fingers crossed that this helps you guys move forward!!!

GEL,

You may also want to look into irritable bowel syndrome ( "sensitive stomach") which is not caused by stress but can be aggravated by it.

Gel:

My S20 has IBS( irritable bowel syndrome). Dont know if he is gassy at night during sleeping etc hours...but there is medicine that he takes that eases the stomach issues. He is very sensitive about this issue...won't eat out unless within 1/2 hour of home, won't eat before games (he is baseball player) etc. But this medicine has worked very well and he is now able to enjoy outings etc AND eat. It It truly has affected his lifestyle until we got the medicine for him.

Anyways, at least now you know some small part of your H issues...

Also -
there is an intestinal parasite called Giardia that can cause bad gas and intermittent cramping - easily diagnosed with a stool sample and easily treated with an antibiotic called Flagyl.

GEL, my bf has found that he cannot eat raw onions in any form, and that includes in hidden forms like powders, seasoned salt, etc. Not only does he have no gas issues, but he has absolutely NO B.O., even after working in the yard in the sun all day! It's incredible. He attributes that to NEVER eating even a bite of raw onion. Who knows?

Now for the next step...getting him in to see the Doc.!
