I am very sorry that your first night alone was so uncomfortable. The only thing I can suggest is that she was happy about not sleeping with the kids, she was excited about spending time alone with you but somehow she felt pressure from you, but who knows what makes other people tick - will we ever know, without taking baby steps and making big mistakes along the way ?

I hope you day and week improve from her.

Nel,

Thanks for the input. Before she arrived, I had been thinking, "Just get her used to being alone with me." But in bed with her, I ignored my own advice.

Thanks for reminding me to take baby steps.
