Nicola - My analyst recommended a book which you might find helpful James Masterson 'In search of the Real Self'. It is a well written book by a respected clinical therapist [he is at Yale, I believe]. What he writes is interesting. What I think happens in MLC is that a lot of personality traits that the MLCer has been keeping the lid on, because they have a poorly integrated personality - [poor sense of identity, and low self esteem etc] bubble up, so that we can look back and say 'Yes, they always had that tendency', but it seems to take over, if that makes sense??
The book as easy to read, and I actually enjoyed it..
