NNP, if you truly enjoy doing things for your H then do it!!!! If that is what gives you pleasure, makes you happy, puts that skip in your step, then do what makes you smile. BUT, balance that with something you can do just for you. A movie, or have H take kids to movie so you can have a quiet evening at home(no cake baking that night), go have a manicure or a pedicure (I hear it's wonderful)...or better yet, tell us what would be fun for you.
Live your life while you are still living. Riding the trail less traveled.
I am really pitiful at figuring out things to do for myself. One thing I really enjoy is time alone in the house to get house work done. How sad am I?
I do enjoy doing things for my H and for my boys and I do things like that often to surprise them.
I had to cancel my counseling session for this week and I probably will not be able to go next week either. It makes me angry that I can not go, but there is just no time.
A typical day for me is: up at 5:30 at work by 7:00 lunch 12-12:30 leave work at 3:30 Pick the boys up up from school and get home around 4:15 Fix dinner Eat between 5 & 6 If it is a hockey night (Tues, Wed and Fri) we are gone from the house by 5:00 and home around 8:30 or 9:00 otherwise I get things done around the house and get in bed about 11:00 - 11:30 and I try to be alseep by midnight.
Help me think, I would like to hear your suggestions for something to do for me.

It occured to me after I wrote that... I do not know my self well enough to know what I would like to do. My counselor touched on that a while back, that I have always been so busy trying to be what everyone else wanted/expected me to be that I do not know who I am.
When she was talking about that I remembered the movie Runaway Bride with Julia Roberts. In that movie she eats whatever kind of eggs her boyfriend of the moment eats. She has no idea for herself what she likes.
I am like that.

...so now is the time to decide!! Just experiment! One of my goals was to take 15 minutes daily for "me time". It was (and still is) difficult to do because I'm always taking care of H, D16, the house, work I brought home with me, etc , etc. Two favorite things: time to read something just for fun (i.e. no relationship stuff) and/or to take a short nap. I'm more likely to take the "me time" once a week rather than once per day. I know that is a big mistake!
So start small and build on it. YOU deserve your ME TIME! Matilda
Instead of reading R books you could read books about your own personality. Take the sample MBTI tests online and go read a book about the different MBTI personalities. Or just browse through personality typing books and explore what types you fit into, what makes sense about those types and what doesn't. Do some self-analysis.
