Yeah - I think my guy is sort of a basic guy. He loves naked, he likes a nice silky nightie - something soft. He doesn't seem to go for the crazier lingerie although I'm really considering buying a corset and hose in a gorgeous color (he loves color) and seeing what he thinks.
My guy loves me in lingerie...it does rev his engine, but he only likes certain types I've noticed. So I stick to buying the really sexy (but classy) one-piece outfits, he seems to like them best. But there are days he really likes me in a big flannel shirt and cotton undies too LOL. Just depends on the mood.
I remember reading in Esquire once that this one guy said the sexiest thing his wife owned was big plain up-to-the-waist white cotton panties. Probably has to do with what garments become associated with a guy's sexual "awakening," kwim?
My late H always remembered a calendar picture he saw at an impressionable age where the pin-up girl was wearing jeans, but they were open and just barely sliding off her hips. Not very revealing, but the picture really stuck in his mind.
Another thing about him... he took a trip to Germany with his grandmother when he was 14, and some older girl cousin of his got pretty frisky with him (this was 1953). She used to sneak off and smoke cigars. For the rest of his life, the sexiest thing in the world to him was a woman holding a cigar... she didn't have to even smoke it... just "hold it," as it were.
I know exactly what you mean. My best friend says that her H (who went to Catholic school) finds white tops with plaid skirts and icy blue eyeshadow alluring. She finds this a little disturbing.
I think my H is also kinda partial to the sweaty and wearing work out clothes type of thing.
