Ellie, thanks so much for the info. I will read as much as i can after i get off of here. They are going to do the blood work either tomorrow or Thursday but have not said anything about the MRI to her so i guess that good old mom will have to step in and call the doc. She has so many of the symptoms that i feel that this is what she has, and i pray that in her case they can cure it.
Thanks once again, and i will let you know how things go.
Prayers, Sonni

Hi Ellie

Just wanted to pop in and touch base and see how you were getting on. I will try and update my thread in the next day or two.

How about the weight? I've just been visiting my sister and she has cream with practically EVERYTHNG!

Ugh! The weight!
I'm in the midst of changing thyroid meds, and in the process, needed to start a little low on the new med (Armour) and work up - I swear I gained 5 lbs. overnight!

But - I like this new doctor I am working with, and am hopeful he will be able to get all my hormonal issues straightened out so that weight loss will be feasible.

Just had my blood drawn today for the gazillion tests he wants on me. We'll be leaving for a week in Baja so I'll get my test results when I get back. Meanwhile, my new thyroid meds have brought my body temperature up to normal (was 96.4 before) so hopefully that means I am also burning a few more calories.

Ellie,

Yes, baby girl newtimer, 7 lbs 3 oz, has arrived. She turned out not to be big at all I did the induction thing twice as the first time didn't work. The epidural didn't work either, but the active labor was only about 5 hours and pushing only 45 minutes. And, no stiches Newtimer is beautiful, peaceful and sweet as can be. She hardly cries, and is sleeping 6 hours at night. Can't wait to have another one

I am well, but my blood pressure has been high (145/85). It was fine all during the pregnancy, so I don't know why it is high now.

It is so nice to be able to walk and sleep without the pregnancy back ache!

Time to nap,
Oldtimer

Best,
Oldtimer

Hi Ellie-
Thanks for answering my question over in MLC. It just seemed strange to me that my H was depressed for a month, then all the craziness started. According to him, he's not depressed anymore. And he went to a psychologist, and am guessing she told him the same (he says so). This may sound like a stupid question, but I feel like I "get" something new everyday - so, the self-medicating part, drinking (not a lot, more like a short trial period to see if it made him feel better), affair (the high from sneaking around I guess, plus the sex), smoking like a fiend - that all took the place of the medication that he should be taking. The medication would actually help, where these things are short term fixes, and he'll wear out the effects? Am I understanding that correctly? So even though he may be depressed, he may not seem like it to an outsider while "self-medicating"....?
Thank you for all your knowledge (and yes, it could be thyroid , but he wouldn't go to a dr, and now he's 3000 miles away...sigh)

DBH, I think you've got it.

Hey all - I'll be gone on vacation for a week. Flying into the path of a tropical storm, let's hope it doesn't become a hurricane! We seriously discussed cancelling last night (the thought of being stuck in a room with two surly teens while it poured outside was intimidating!) but the kids are up for it so we're off to have an adventure!

Hi Ellie,
Quote:

if that "great marriage" their parents seemed to have could suddenly fall apart without warning (so far as they knew) then what else that they trusted in is actually suspect too???

This remains a fear of mine for S6. I find myself going thru life searching for the absolute truth, knowing that my view are biased with my perception. Knowing that my M was skewed - at least in the final years - by the pulling away of my XW - I do wish S6 could have grown in that sense of security. The idea that, no matter how hard the storm blows outside, Mom and Dad are keeping home safe, could have been a nice stepping stone for him. I'll be doing my best to provide that for him in as good a manner as I can.

Have a fun time on vacation with your family, Ellie. Sounds like you'll be going to the nice warm tropics!

kml,

When you get back from your vacation & get settled, please go to Midlife Crisis & read my post (Lettingo). I've been lurking for some time & would really value your opinion & advice.

Thanks,
Lettingo
