And it's FINE to offer those perspectives - just not fine to imply that no one posts to you because you don't follow their advice, or to not listen when someone says they hear your perspective but do not believe it is the right approach for their sitch. (It's fine, btw, to say "I don't post often because you don't take my advice" - but not to say "nobody posts to you because you don't take their advice".)
I feel she's very clearly HEARING you - she just doesn't agree. And that's fine too. I'm sure she's putting your input into her memory banks. I believe ALL perspectives are valuable.

Who said that? I know it wasn't me or SWL.

Doesn't agree or won't allow herself to even consider what someone else has to say.
Isn't it funny what different perspectives people can have reading the same thread? I never got the impression she wasn't willing to consider what you said - only that she had considered it and decided it wasn't the direction she wants to go with her sitch.
Just want to say though, that there ARE those who kid themselves that they are "hardly eating anything" but haven't a clue just how many calories they are putting away every day.
Doctor Ellie, I really did mean "some" people, not you! I am sure you are well in control of your situation and I wouldn't presume to tell you how to diet. I am really glad you have broken through the barrier as it were.
But I am an avid label reader, and there is a lot of BS on those labels, that's all. I have known people who think they can eat tons of chicken breasts, for instance, because it is "only" white meat, you know? Or loads of "low fat" prepared foods, which contain mountains of fat, and cetainly calories, in effect.
That's all.

Oh, no way I'm getting back on that scale THIS week - not after all that social eating on vacation!!!!
I am buckling down to dieting now that I am home, though, and will start my workouts back up.
We had a lovely trip to Hawaii. We were in the part of the islands where my H had his affair, but I was able to put it (almost) entirely out of my mind - it helped that H was especially loving during the trip. We rented a house with two couples that were also going to the wedding there, both couples are good friends that we don't get to see very often, it was really fun. We were right down the beach from the set of "Lost", a very popular tv show which I don't watch but my girlfriend is crazy about, so she was thrilled to walk by the set.
Then we went to visit MIL and her H and took the kids snowboarding with them. They have moved to Bend, Oregon, and I must say, it is a perfect place for them. Just lovely. MIL makes me feel like such a slacker, though. She's 70, and when I asked her about some activities in town that I thought she might enjoy getting involved in, she answered "Well, I ski 2 or 3 times a week, and H and I work out at Gold's Gym 5 days a week, and after I do that and take care of the house and walk the dog, well, my days are pretty full"!!! I want to be my MIL when I grow up!
