Who said a joke isn't funny the second time? This just makes me chuckle...
A rope goes into a bar and tries to order a drink. The barkeep sez "Are you a ROPE?" And the rope sez "Yep." Barkeep sez "Well, we don't serve ropes in here". Disheartened, but angry, the rope leaves the bar, goes out to the parking lot, ties himself in a knot and frays his ends a bit. Rope heads back into the bar, sits down and orders a drink. Barkeep eyeballs him and sez "Are you a ROPE???" The rope sez, "nope, I'm a frayed knot."

And in real life, it's all a matter of presentation, isn't it?

Presenting the last thread.... Hanging on/The Long Haul

Winter solstice, a time for laying on the blanketed floor under the Christmas tree lights, being close, touching, back rubs, enjoying the company of the person you love the most. A favorite memory I will always cherish.

And something good to bring forward with me - A couple nice things yesterday - an order came in for our home business, and H got me some things I had asked about. Also, when he left last night he left a bottle of diesel treatment setting in the middle of the kitchen floor for me. Now that might not sound wonderful, but it was his way of showing that he didn't want my truck to gel up. So he does think about me!

Hey WCW-
I just emailed you.

I like the frayed knot joke! My favorite right now is the interupting cow knock knock joke from South Park. S3 tells that joke over and over even though he hasn't figure out how to do it right yet. (No, S3 does not watch South Park-but H and I tell that joke to each other and it never fails to crack us up for some stupid reason.)

Someone needs to tell me the interupting cow joke, sounds like one I could use in a dairy state.

Today at work we had our Christmas dinner, t o o m u c h f o o d!!! Plus, I am addicted to the chocolate candy we made on Saturday. I'm a goner......

Another surprise tonight. H's truck is parked in the driveway when I get home, dogs are still locked up. HHmmm. But I walk in the house and there is a note on the table, went with soandso to look at a horse. Cool, I got a note! But, as I've already suspected, this H just doesn't work very much these days. But the guy he's with is a good friend, H should be in good hands, I hope.

gggrrrr - my 'stalker' friend, caught me again tonight. I pulled into a store parking lot, I was going to head in to the store and finish some Christmas shopping, but sat in my truck while I finished a phone call with my sis. This guy friend comes walking over to my truck! where did he come from? stood around while I stayed on the phone, finally motioned that he was going in the store and would talk to me inside. When he was out of sight I started up the truck and drove away. I just don't need that kind of friend. A real friend, yes. A friend that makes insinuations and wants to know if I'm available for a date while I'm married, no.

Oops, I found another note. H must've wrote it a while ago already, but being the not so quick type to figure things out, I just found it. It said - thanks for not tearing the door handles off my truck too. Alright, I suppose I deserve that. But do ya think he has any clue of his responsibility in making me feel the way I do? And now, he is gone for a while and his truck is home. EEEwwwwiiieee, this could be a fun night!

I'm sorry, that was FUNNY. I don't mean to laugh at your expense but I totally spewed soda all over.

I laughed, too. Maybe he really was trying to make a joke? WCW, act as if you find it funny even if he was trying to be jerky. You're responsible for your own reactions.

Great, you guys think it's funny? geez! well, you're right, I suppose it is. A joke - nope. If he wanted to joke about it he would have said it to my face, not left a discreet note that I would come across at some point in time. I will ignore it, and not give him the satisfaction of a reaction. And for the record, I did get the correct door latch and it is installed and working better than the old one ever did. Maybe a little oil and maintenance on that old latch and it wouldn't have busted off? And getting that for him is more than H has done about fixing the headlight/grill on my truck that he swiped on a tree. It's not very noticeable, but he said he'd fix it. Guess I should have asked if that would be while I was still making payments. If that's the case he's got plenty of time!

So H got dropped off tonight by friend. I was basically done with chores, but it's 20 degrees and tropical, so I was still out brushing mane and tail on my favorite old mare, the mother of the mare I ride, as well as the Mother Mare of the whole place. She is special, H rode her when we got married, I rode another horse we still have. They are both 22 years old now. Anyway, I was just spending time with her, horse therapy, which I don't do often enough. H came and found me in the pen with her, made a few comments about the horses they looked at today, and then said he had another meeting tonight. He forgot all about it until someone emailed to remind him. So off he went after being home for not even 5 minutes. But it was really just what I needed tonight. I didn't want to sit here with him again in cold silence like the weekend.

I hope I wasn't too 'forward' tonight. I was cleaning in the bedroom, folding clothes and stuff, and moved some of my stuff into the empty spaces that H has been creating. I suppose I could leave a note on an empty hanger, something like - 'plenty of space and if you want to use it, you're welcome. But you know how womens clothes are, in the dryer they shrink and in the closet they multiply.'

And I never got a chance to do anything with the truck door handles. Don't you think a lube and grease job would have been in order? or maybe petroleum jelly smeared all over them?
