I got a Kawasaki 1500cc Vulcan Classic Cruiser. I would not have gotten one if I were still married but what the hell. I am not one for the crotch rockets.
If you can, take a safety riding course first to see if it is something you'll enjoy.

State Trooper: Do you feel this vehicle is safe for highway travel?
Del Griffith: Yes sir. Yes. Yes I do. I mean she may not look like much but she'll get you where you wanna go.
Had a C session today. Didn't get much out of it. Still going through the ups and downs and getting kinda tired of it. The bike has been fun and I am doing things to GAL but some times (most) I still find myself wanting the things I can't have.
I don't know if I am ready but I do want to start going out. I don't intend to fall H over H for the first person who shows an interest in me but I do feel a need for some kind of companionship.
I would even be happy with a friend that wants to see a movie or dinner.
Am I getting ahead of myself? I am just finding too much time on my hands and can only do so many things.
Hope you all are having good days and I will vent more later.
Mel, thanks for the talk. It felt good to just talk to someone.

Thurs. Morning at the fire station. Have just about all our daily work completed. We really busted our a$$es to get it all done. Bad side is now there will be some extended down time until we get our calls for the day.
We are merging with another fire department. Boy has that been a real pissing contest. I haven't gotten mentally involved for the reasons I am on this board but I ahve observed the two camps on this ordeal.
They will be changing our name and even that was a major task for the two departments to agree on and in the end, the city councils chose the one they wanted. HA HA.
More later. Jak466

It's all politics!!! I work at a local well known Mpls hosp. and it's the same there. The manager has all of these counsels to help the units run smoother, but in the end it's not what makes the nurses happy, it's what makes her look good in her job!!! I quit being on cousels years ago for that very reason. It's too discouraging.
OF course they did, does that surprise you?!!! they ask for our opinions when they already have the answers that they want. But in our case at the hosp. they want the nurses to feel that they have had an opinion. Right now it's a lot of the new fresh nurses right out of school that are on the counsels, that is a good thing, I do believe that it's good to some fresh young blood in there sometimes. It can be very refreshing. They haven't been tainted with negative feelings from mangement yet.
I have read through your sitch and try to follow it. I'm sorry that you're in this position. It's nice to hear from fellow minnesotans up here in the north country!!
