Tuesday 28 June WEATHER WARNING Severe thunderstorms are affecting southern parts of England and Wales this evening The storms will move across all of Wales, the Midlands and into nothern England during the night. Torrential downpours will make driving dangerous and may cause flooding. Valid until 0200.
Weren't they supposed to get back Mon eve? I had a thought. What would it hurt to leave a message on his machine noting that you were worried about the girls and him (include him) b/c of the weather, but glad they were with him, as you know he'd ensure their safety.
This conveys appropriate thoughts/concern from you, without removing the appropriate boundaries you set up. After all, a major storm calls for some flexibility.
I'd say you may need a nice glass of wine tonight to calm the nerves, as you can't play a central role tonight anyway.
Jo - wherever they are they are having an adventure - or as my H calls it, an "epic". It will give them great stories to tell when they get home. Funny, one of the camping trips I remember best from my childhood was one where it rained so hard we had to dig trenches around our tents to try to keep the water out.
And, for all you know, H gave up and they are all bouncing on some hotel room bed right now!
No, he gets back late Friday night - it's Alicia's birthday on Saturday which I invited them to and then I told him he could have her 7pm Saturday till Monday evening. That's where you got Mon evening from.
Trust him to take them camping in bad storms. Since there has been weather warnings, I am anxious about him driving back in this - but hopefully it will have stopped by Friday. I am going to pay close attention to the internet forecasts.
If I call his house, it's not empty - there's EX-OW, BF 24, Rose 18 and Rob 14 and maybe a few friends living there. It wouldn't get put on answer machine, someone would pick up.
I think I'll go to bed in a bit, it's late and I'm just worrying.
I'd very much like to leave a reply on your thread about what women find impressive, but I'm the LBS so I don't know if I count. I'll reply tomorrow when I am less sleepy as it takes thought
You're right, the kids are probably tougher than I think. The 2 oldest ones are quite big for their age (the 9 year old is the size of an 11 yr old and the 7 yr old is almost the same size as her sister) but my Lulu, the 5 yr old, is really dainty.
I suppose I'm just being over protective. They are probably loving it.
Tried to go to college this morning but they've changed their opening hours so they weren't opening till 1pm, so I couldn't go today.
Went with my friend and DD4 and her S 20 months to a toddler group, chatted to the women there.
This afternoon I went to the IVF clinic to meet the main man, Mr Thornton, who is in charge of everyone. Took DD4 with me as X loused up so she wasn't with him like she would have been. She liked it anyway and played with lego bricks.
This nurse checked my weight (7 stone), height (5 foot 2 inches) and blood pressure (normal).
Then I got called through to see the 'main man' and he explained what drugs I would have to inject and the operation they were going to do and he showed me a diagram of the vagina and ovaries which I thought was slightly ironic as he's a MAN and he hasn't even got a vagina, but I have so why the blinking heck do I need a DIAGRAM?
He showed me pictures of how they puncture a hole through the vaginal wall to reach the ovaries and then suck the eggs out with their big syringe. Thank God they were just drawings and not actual photos, LOL.
Because they are doing it under a general anasthetic he had to ask me loads of questions about do I react to anasthetics etc and I do get horribly sick from them, even local ones, so they are going to pump me full of anti-sickness drugs as well. Lovely.
He asked me what method of contraception I am using. I said 'abstinance' and that made him smile
He says there is a chance they may actually start the procedure this cycle, and since today is the first day of my period, this is technically day 1 of this cycle - that means it could all be over in a month!
On the down side, I have a trip to the beach booked for 24th July and I wanted to go on some other day trips and I don't know if I can now. I hope I don't have to cancel them.
He says if they can't match me to my recipient couples this cycle, then it will be next cycle (August) so I can't book any August trips until afer they have told me when I have to start the drugs. It's a bit annoying because I always go on day trips in July and August, every year and I wanted to take DD4 to Wales soon.
Oh well, no summer trips until the dr says so!
Fancy showing me a diagram of the vagina! I'll never get over that, I tell you!
Just checked my answerphone and there was a voice text from X.
I had never even heard of a voice text! Didn't know you could do that. Anyway, this autonated voice said 'what suggestions do you have for contact with Alicia this weekend? Andy.'
The guy is soiling his drawers now, LOL I have left my cell phone permanently switched off since I came back from my friend so he can't get me on that. I haven't even checked for messages on it.
Don't intend to answer his voice text (not even sure how) and I wrote my contact suggestions in that email so he can just wait till he gets home and then read the email I sent him.
