GGB - Congrats on the little fella. We have 2 foster sons in the house, my bio son, my bio daughter and or bio daughter. Sounds even but the former fosters and the kids we mentor are all boys so we are testosterone heavy as well.
I know how your wife feels about the belly. I'm not sure to what degree my skin will snap back but I'm trying to get rid of the subcutaneous fat and build the muscles and see. I would support your W in getting a tummy tuck if it helped her feel better about herself. It would need to be after getting finished with pregnancies and after seeing how much diet and exercise could do to get the best result. Anywhooo - in the end that has to be motivated by her anyway.
HP - luck with the Pilates - I like it because you don't need a bunch of equipment, it uses minimal space and you can do it without shoes on. I hate anything that I have to gather a bunch of equipment or push furniture out of the way for. Are you a member of a gym? The plus there is the daycare. When I was a SAHM I liked having a gym membership. Now, I don't feel that I get enough time with the kids as it is. Karen
I don't know if this means I am sane or insane, but I am such a baby lover I got my tubes tied right after #2 so that I wouldn't be tempted to have 10.
I gained way more weight breast-feeding than I did being pregnant. I was ALWAYS hungry, but I was a very good cow. I don't believe in baby food so my kids survived on nothing but breastmilk and Cheerios for the first year of life. They both weighed 30 lbs. at a year and they are extremely healthy and have no allergies even though my H and I are both asthmatics who go into anaphalactic shock when exposed to the wrong substances.

Jenny, Another thing we agree on--I hate baby food too! It is expensive and tastes like sh!t, imo.
With D5, I made her mashed up food but with D2 I just skipped it altogether and she went straight to table food when she was old enough. Neither of mine have any allergies either but H and I don't, also, so that is not as dramatic as your example! Oh and I have skinny and tall kiddoes..both are in the 98th percentile for height (guess they will take after me). I didn't even know that until Tuesday when I took them to a different pediatrician who keeps track of the percentiles. I personally think that's a crock. I don't really see the relevance to how she measures up physically to her peers, unless there is a problem that would require that knowledge in order to move forward with treatment.
Anyhoo, I have heard it both ways--people who dropped weight while bf'ing and others who held onto it. For me, I have to diet AND breastfeed, then the weight drops off. I couldn't eat normally while bf'ing; my body would hold on to every stinkin calorie like it was gold.
I hate baby food too, and formula (especially when it comes out the other end - it stinks!!)
All four went from b'milk to table food, occasional jar when absolutely necessary. I actually went 6 yrs no break of being either pg or nursing. I gained a lot with all 3 pgs, actually, just the same amount, even with the twins (though they were 5 wks premie, and I was in bed for the last 3 wks, with horrible hospital food ) and lost most of it while nursing, only to get pg again...
Had no trouble loosing weight while nursing, 'specially twin boys!! I put all this extra stuff on a year or so after weaning the boys - between being used to eat just about whatever I wanted, and realizing what lousy shape my M was in, not to mention my commute...it just kind of piled on.
My plans for crosscountry skiing? It's about 40°c here now, not even much ice left, and DARK!!
Just thought I'd stop in and talk about babies, since I can't really help in the sex dept.
Just wanted to report on the MandK physique. I went to the doctor having lost the one pound per month that he requested (He said, Did I really say one pound per month?) But my blood pressure had gone up, so he wanted to prescribe pills. And guess what those pills can do??? So I got a 3 month reprieve: No pills (and no ED) if I keep losing the weight. There's a motivation.
I really appreciate your updates on your physical state. I wonder about WW. It sounds like it is something like this forum: a place to get common sense advice from people in the same boat as you.
At least I'm not gaining as I usually do this time of year!
Yeah, M&K pointed that out on my thread, that's what I get posting at 1 am...
of course it was 40°F. But 40°F is cool in sauna, we usually keep ours at a tepid 60°C. That feels cool too, 'till you add lots of steam... (the only place in this house that gets hot!)
