I told you I wasn't feeling well Monday morning and both Husband and I called in sick to work.
We both felt nauseas (sp?).
That night I woke up from a bad dream at 2:00 am and heard a voice telling me to go take a pregnancy test.
I argued with it saying it was just the bad pizza...but the voice insisted.
So...I did!
It turned positive instantly!
I started leaping up and down shrieking happily. Then stopped, checked it again, and resumed leaping and shrieking.
Husband slept through all this...so I dashed into the bedroom shook him awake. I was so excited that even when his eyes were open and looking at me, I was saying, "Wake up!!"
I told him the test results and he stumbled into the bathroom to look at them himself.
Now...please understand, we've been planning this for ages. Due to my thyroid, our current plan was to get my thyroid med at the right dosage and take a year for me to get into shape and lose weight. We'd been working out together doing weight lifting and cardio. But, in my despair at finding out that my TSH levels were way above 2.0 which is what is needed to have and maintain a healthy pregnancy, I had stopped charting my cycle.
So, now I don't know exactly how far along I am! The one time I slacked off!!
We were still in the planning stages! But I guess the time was right and the Universe blessed us!
I went to the doctor on Sept 1. He had me do another pee test and verified that I'm pregnant.
And he's referred me to a high risk ob/gyn. My first appointment is Sept 9.
So, I'm in shock. Husband and I are giddy and keep giggling madly at each other.
We keep asking each other if this is really happeneing. For so long I was afraid that I could not conceive due to my thyroid.
Now we know I can! Miracles do happen!
If you feel so inclined, please pray, send reiki, whatever suits you best, for this to be a healthy happy baby.
WOO HOO! Hope the happy dance doesn't make you vomit!!!!
Now, you be nice to yourself and get lots of rest! Of course, getting sick makes that one a no brainer but I have to be the mom and remind you to do this anyway.
Saltines and sipping water... ugh... the memories of this all. I was really sick with D10 for 4 months and less so with D7 for 3 months. I hope yours passes quickly!
Congratulations and my prayers are definitely with you for a smooth pregnancy. Enjoy it!
Hugs and love,
Betsey

Now - where are you in your thyroid dosing? I assume you increased your dose after that last TSH of over 2? How much did you go up and how long ago? Start those prenatal vitamins today!
Bear in mind, you can still do the BFL exercises while you are pregnant.
My GP thinks that I'm about 8 weeks along. He refused to up my thyroid dosage until I did bloodwork. I expect the bloodwork results by friday. That will tell me how my thyroid is doing and my HCG which is supposed to help pinpoint where I am.
I have only experienced the nausea(sp?) no actual throwing up...so I may be one of the lucky few...or it may not have hit yet...dunno.
I've started taking prenatal vits. Fortunately, I was already taking a multi-vit before regularly...so that's good.
Ellie, you said I could continue the BFL???
I thought I read somewhere that weight-lifting was a no-no. But my heaviest weight is 10 pounds for the arms.
I would be so happy if I could continue. If not...Husband has been working on the pool so that I could do that daily.
Thank you for all the well-wishes and hugs! I have tons to learn and have been cruising www.parentsplace.com I can't wait for my first appt with ob/gyn...I have sooo many questions!
